Table of contents

Properties of materials

  • Adhesive properties of compositions based on mixtures of butadiene—nitrile rubber—thiocol, modified with rosin K. N. Slobodkina1; K. B. Vernigorov2; Yu. M. Kazakov1; O. V. Stoyanov1 (E-mail: ov_stoyanov@mail.ru)1Kazan National Research Technological University (KNITU), Kazan, 420015, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.2«SIBUR PolyLab» LLC, Moscow, 143026, Russian Federation., 2

  • The effect of rosin content on the adhesion characteristics of filled compositions based on butadiene-nitrile rubber (BNR) and thiokol to steel, duralumin, rubber based on butadiene-nitrile rubber has been studied. Adhesion indicators of model compositions based on BNR and compositions based on the mixture «BNR — thiokol» were estimated. It was found that the dependence of adhesive strength on the rosin content in compositions based on butadiene-nitrile rubber had an extreme character. It is shown that the adhesive strength of these compositions does not depend on the type of substrate, test method, that is typical for adhesives «sensitive to pressure». It was found out that the optimal set of adhesive properties was possessed by compositions based on butadiene-nitrile rubber, containing 5 mass parts of rosin, and a further increase in the rosin content in such a composition led to a decrease in adhesive strength.
Keywords: butadiene-nitrile rubber, thiokol, elastomer composition, rosin, modification, adhesive strength.

  • Mechanism of destruction of epoxy matrices modified with thermoplastic and active diluent, and glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP) based on them, under condition of low-speed impact T. V. Petrova1,2; I. V. Tretyakov1,2; D. A. Bulgakov1; V. I. Solodilov1,2 (E-mail: tuyara.2312@mail.ru)1N.N. • Epoxy matrices modified with polysulfone (PSU) and furfuryl glycidyl ether (FGE), as well as glass fibers reinforced plastics (GFRP) based on them, have been studied. Combined modification of the epoxy matrix with PSU and FGE increases the impact resistance of both the matrices and GFRPs. At the same time, it is possible to control the type of phase structure of the matrices by introducing FGE to ensure the required values of impact resistance of matrices and GFRPs.
Keywords: shear strength, unidirectional glass fiber reinforced plastic, epoxy matrix, polysulfone, active diluent.

  • Bond quality of printing paper, using hot-melt adhesives V. N. Serova; A. I. Khasanov (E-mail: vnserova@rambler.ru)Kazan National Research Technological University (KNITU), Kazan, 420015, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation., 18

  • The regularities of changes in the quality of adhesive bonding during the manufacture of book-and-magazine products have been studied, depending on the type of used bindery hot-melt adhesive and the type of printing paper. The hot-melt adhesives of foreign production — Technomelt Q-2416 and Technomelt Q-3218, as well as the domestic one TK-3P, — offset and coated matte paper were used. The objects of the study were model adhesion joints in the form of triplexes «paper — hot-melt adhesive — paper». Experimental data were obtained that on a quantitative level make it possible to predict the change in strength during delamination of the studied adhesion joints, depending on the amount of pressure force during gluing. Their resistance to the thermal aging and the influence of low temperatures, as well as the elasticity of the proper adhesive films were investigated. It was found that the strength of gluing above mentioned types of paper was higher when using the domestic hot-melt adhesive TK-3P as compared to the imported hot-melt adhesive Technomelt Q-3218, but was lower than when using the imported hot-melt adhesive Technomelt Q-2416. Sufficient elasticity and weather resistance of all the studied hot-melt adhesives were revealed.
Keywords: adhesive bond, adhesion joint, hot-melt glue, printing paper, delamination strength, elasticity, weather resistance.

Methods of analysis and tests

  • Devices and methods for testing self-adhesive materials K. A. Meleshko; A. A. Ashirbekova; V. V. Shepelevich; A. E. Gordienko; A. P. Pushkaryova; A. A. Anikeenko (E-mail: ashirbekova@likk.ru)JSC «LIKK», Lipetsk, 398024, Russian Federation., 23

  • The main quality indicators of self-adhesive materials and the methods of their determination are considered. The international organizations involved in the development of standards in the field of testing adhesive tapes are listed, as well as the basic requirements for devices and testing conditions are described.
Keywords: self-adhesive material, adhesive tape, adhesion, stickiness, shear resistance.

  • Evaluation of fatigue behavior of bituminous binders, using test of linear amplitude sweep: effect of temperature, aging and modification V. N. Gorbatova; I. V. Gordeeva; T. V. Dudareva; I. A. Krasotkina; A. A. Berlin (E-mail:N. N. Semenov Federal Research Center of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation., 28

  • The effect of temperature, thermal-oxidative short-term and long-term aging and modification on the resistance of PG58-28 grade bitumen to cyclic deformations in the range from +19 to –5 °Ñ has been investigated using the linear amplitude sweep test. Active powder of discretely devulcanized rubber, produced by high-temperature shear grinding of recycled tire rubber was used as a modifier. The fatigue failure temperature ranges of specimens were determined and it was shown that decreasing the test temperature and aging led to an increase in the peak value of shear stress (τmax) and a decrease in the proper strain value (γ), while modification led to a decrease in τmax, an increase in γ and an increase in the extent of the post-peak area in the curve τ(γ). The formation peculiarities of the three-dimensional network in the modified binder was analyzed.
Keywords: fatigue, bitumen, modification, aging, relaxation.

Areas of application

  • New betulin-containing copolymers of oligo (ethylene glycol) methacrylates D. V. Orekhov; O. A. Kazantsev; A. P. Sivokhin; E. B. Spitsin; K. V. Shirshin (E-mail: mitriy07@mail.ru)R. E. Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (NNSTU), Nizhny Novgorod, 603950, Russian Federation., 40

  • New amphiphilic betulin- and oligoethylene glycol-containing polymethacrylic molecular brushes have been prepared by the method of radical homopolymerization of the first synthesized macromonomers — oligo (ethylene glycol) betuline methacrylates, as well as by the method of copolymerization of betulin methacrylate with oligo (ethylene glycol) methacrylates (in the second case, the copolymerization constants of the comonomers were determined). It is shown that differences in the architecture of homopolymer and copolymer molecular brushes (different arrangements of oligoethylene glycol fragments in the side chains) affect the behavior of polymers in aqueous solutions.
Keywords: betulin methacrylate, oxyethylation, oligo (ethylene glycol) betulin methacrylate, methoxyoligo (ethylene glycol) methacrylate, radical polymerization, polymer molecular brushe, aqueous solution.
