Properties of materials

  • Solvent influence on relaxation transitions formation in polymeric materials obtained from butadien-nitrile rubber / chlorinated polyizoprane blends, used in elastomeric adhesive compositions Yu. Glukhov1 (E-mail: naumova_yulia@mail.ru)1MIREA — Russian Technological University, Moscow 119454, Russian Federation.2N.M. • Results of studies of polymer films formed from SKN-26CMNT butadiene-nitrile rubber solutions, chlorinated isoprene rubber of the Pergut S20 brand, and their blends are presented. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method was used. The analysis of the obtained thermograms was carried out to determinate the influence of nature of the solvent and a ratio of the polymers on their transition temperatures from the glassy state to the highly elastic one. It has been found out that when the ratio of butadiene-nitrile rubber / chlorinated polyisoprene is 80 / 20 and 50 / 50% wt., the one relaxation transition is observed, and the solvent determines its temperature range.
Keywords: butadiene-nitrile rubber, chlorinated polyisoprene, solvent, polymer blend, differential scanning calorimetry, solvent, intermolecular interaction, glass transition temperature.

Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Moscow, 125047, Russian Federation.2Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 119991, Russian Federation., 10

  • The influence of heat-resistant thermoplastics (blends of polyesterimide and polycarbonate) on adhesion of epoxy resin ED-20 (ÅÄ-20) on fibers, its wetting ability as well as residual stresses occurring on the boundary of adhesion — solid body in the formation process has been studied. It was found out that the thermoplastic blend addition practically did not effect on the wedding change in the curing process, decreased residual stresses and increased adhesion strength in compounds of ED-20 and fibers. Possible mechanisms of the observed synergism of interface strength are discussed.
Keywords: blend, epoxy, heat-resistant thermoplastic, polyesterimide, polycarbonate, adhesion strength, wedding, residual stress.

  • Adhesive properties of adhesive elastomer compositions modified with maleic anhydride in composition of lactam-containing molecular complexes A. F. Puchkov1; N. A. Tretyakova2; I. I. Abolskaya2 (E-mail: info@progress-omsk.ru)1Volgograd State Technical University, Volgograd, 404121, Russian Federation.2«Federal Research and Production Center» ‘Progress’", Omsk, 644018, Russian Federation., 16

  • A formation mechanism of the ternary molecular complex with maleic anhydride has been investigated. It is shown that the formation of the complex occurs by the use of a dense network of hydrogen bonds, providing the complex with the liquid state and storage stability. The resulting complex possessing anhydrite and hydroxide groups is capable of modifying the elastomer of the adhesive and interacting with isocyanates.
Keywords: ε-caprolactam, adhesive composition, maleic anhydride, adhesive contact, molecular complex, modification.

Technology

  • Quality improvement of combined packaging materials by ultrasonic treatment V. V. Ananyev1; O. A. Bannikova2; O. V. Beznayeva2; A. E. Chalykh3; V. Yu. Stepanenko3; T. F. Petrova3 (E-mail: petrttt@mail.ru)1Moscow Polytechnic University, Moscow, 127550, Russian Federation.2Moscow State University of Food Production (MGUPP), Moscow, 125080, Russian Federation.3A.N. Frumkin Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, 119071, Russian Federation., 21

  • The use of ultrasonic treatment to improve the adhesive properties of combined packaging polymer material based on low-density polyethylene and cardboard, as well as promising areas of investigations in the field of a structure of combined polymeric materials, modification of a paper surface and methods of the influence on polyethylene melt, that ensure the improved adhesion interaction, are discussed. It is demonstrated that the ultrasonic treatment of the polyethylene melt allows one to improve the quality of the finished product with relatively low energy consumption.
Keywords: combined packaging material, adhesive strength, ultrasound, extrusion lamination.

  • Reasons for change of «adhesive—veneer» adhesion interaction during glue polarization in plywood production process M. F. Galikhanov1; A. F. Domracheva1; T. Yovcheva2; G. Exner2 (E-mail: mgalikhanov@yandex.ru)1Kazan National Research Technological University, Kazan, 420015, Russian Federation.2Department of Experimental Physics, Plovdiv University «P. Hilendarski», Plovdiv, 4000, Bulgaria., 27

  • Plywood based on birch veneers and carbamide-formaldehyde, epoxy and polyvinyl acetate adhesives is described. The constant electric field effect on strength and adhesive properties was valued. It has been found that preliminary treatment of an adhesive by the electric field reduces its viscosity and increases shear strength by 95—115%. Polarization of plywood samples during manufacturing enhances shear strength by 10—135% (depending on a type of a used adhesive). It is caused by several reasons that are considered. The obtained results can be explained by orientation of molecules under the electric field action that results in strengthening the material, the occurrence of a double electric layer on the boundary «veneer—adhesive», a decrease in adhesive viscosity and other causes.
Keywords: plywood, adhesive, veneer, adhesion, polarization, glue viscosity, contact angle.

Bubnova2 (E-mail: helga35781@yandex.ru)1Bauman Moscow State Technical University (National Research University) (MGTUB), Mytishchi Branch, Moscow District, Mytishchi, 141005, Russian Federation.2Institute of Problems of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow District, Chernogolovka, 142432, Russian Federation., 34

  • The production technology of a paper laminate with the use of modified melamine-formaldehyde impregnating resins synthesized in the presence of a catalyst, replacing caustic soda and excluding reaction Cannizzaro is discussed. It was proved that the paper laminate based on the modified melamine-formaldehyde resin SP–300 could be recommended for the production implementation.
