  • Numerical Modeling of Side Flow Effect on Free Convection Heat Transfer From an Aligned Plain-Tube Bank Ivanov N.G., Ris V.V., Tschur N.A.e-mail: aero@phmf.spbstu.ru, 434

  • Results of numerical modeling of buoyancy-induced draft flow through an aligned plain-tube bank are presented. Three-dimensional unsteady computations have been performed for water at Gr = 5×105, Pr = 7. It was found that vertical draft-flow velocities grow from the bottom to the top of the tube bank due to intensive ejection through side boundaries. Increase in characteristic velocities leads to strong non-uniformity of heat output over the tube bank height. Effects of superimposed side flow on heat transfer have been investigated. It was discovered that if a horizontal side flow is imposed, the draft plume is destroyed completely that results in reduction of average heat transfer from the inner rows by 30%.
Keywords: tube bank, free convection, heat transfer, undercurrent, numerical modeling.

  • Heating Heterogeneity Effect on Liquid Metal Heat Transfer in Inclined Tube Affected by Longitudinal Magnetic Field Belyaev I. A., Genin L.G., Razuvanov N.G., Sviridov V. G.,e-mail: iabelyaev@gmail.com, 442

  • An experimental study of liquid metal flow in an inclined tube (the slope to the horizon 1/5) affected by longitudinal magnetic field with homogeneous and inhomogeneous heating along the tube perimeter have been held. Profiles of mean and fluctuating temperatures were measured using probe method. The distribution of local and average heat transfer coefficients, the statistical characteristics of temperature fluctuations then were recalculated.
Keywords: liquid metal, MHD, probe measurements, inclined channel.

  • Oscillations of a Pendulum with a Cavity Containing a Viscous Incompressible Liquid Botalov A.Y., Zubkov P.T.,e-mail: pzubkov@utmn.ru, 449

  • The plane oscillation of the cavity containing a viscous incompressible liquid has been numerically investigated. Time of damping was detected, and values of parameters were found in which this time is minimum.
Keywords: incompressible liquid, plane oscillations, SIMPLER.

  • Procedure of Design Calculation of a Vortex Tube on the Basis of the Criterial Equations Piralishvili Sh. A., Shaykina A.A., e-mail: piral@list.ru, 455

  • Procedure of design calculation have been developed based on refined criterial equations relating characteristics of energy separation to the parameters providing operating, thermodynamic and geometrical similarity.
Keywords: procedure, vortex tube, criterial equations, vortex effect.

  • Investigation of Processes of Salt and Coke Depositions in Enhanced Channels with Realization of Vortex Technologies of Heat and Mass Transfer Dzyubenko B. V., Myakochin A. S., Shcherbakova N. U., e-mail: heat@mai.ru, 463

  • The specific features of salt and coke depositions inside enhanced tubes in flowing cold water with temporary hardness salts and hydrocarbon fuels are considered. These are connected with use of vortex technologies and the swirling of flow. The generalization of experimental data on the heat transfer and the fouling layer thermal resistance is fulfilled. It is established that the fouling thermal resistance is asymptotically approached in time to them constant value. At the expense of heat transfer intensification inside tubes the deposition layer thickness is reducing because of the increase of the shear stress in the thin wall layer.
Keywords: salt and coke depositions, enhancement of heat and mass transfer, twisted tubes, fouling thermal resistance.

  • The Effective Thermal Conductivity of Composites with Spherical Inclusions Zarubin V.S., Kuvyrkin G.N., Savelyeva I.Y., e-mail: Inga.Savelyeva@gmail.com, 470

  • A mathematical model of heat transfer in a composite with spherical inclusions has been built. The estimates of the effective thermal conductivity of the composite were obtained. Conducted parametric analysis was revealed the scope of founding evaluations that can be used to predict the effective thermal conductivity of the composite modified by fullerenes.
Keywords: Composite, effective coefficient of thermal conductivity, nanostructural elements, fullerenes.

  • On the Possibility of Control Action on the Temperature Field of a Solid Body with a Spherical Heating-up Spot Having a Heat-Absorbing Coating Attetkov A.V., e-mail: fn2@bmstu.ru, 475

  • Features of temperature field formation process was investigated in the unlimited solid isotropic body containing the spherical location of a warming up with heat-absorbing thermally thin covering of its surface and in time varying modes of heat exchange. The approximate analytical method of the solution of corresponding non-stationary heat conductivity problem is developed. The received results have been used for theoretical justification of possibility of controlled influence on a temperature field of studied system.
Keywords: solid body, spherical location of warming up, temperature field, integral transformation.
